Health data and its purpose
With your permission, Carrot reads sleep; heart rate and resting heart rate; SDNN heart rate variability; respiratory rate; overnight wrist temperature; steps; VO₂ max; workouts and actual or estimated effort; and mindful sessions available in Health. Availability depends on your data and devices. These support wellness estimates, carrots, metrics and trends. Carrot does not write data to Health.
Local processing and storage
Wellness estimates are calculated on iPhone and Apple Watch. Carrot stores preferences, sleep profiles, estimates and derived summaries locally using UserDefaults and App Groups. Daily results are pruned during refresh: up to 4 days for morning/day results and up to 60 days for carrot history summaries. The sleep profile uses up to 28 nights and has no automatic deletion period in the app. No developer-operated server has been implemented to receive Health data.
Apple Watch and widgets
Carrot shares summaries and access state between your iPhone and Apple Watch through WatchConnectivity. Widgets and complications read local summaries from the relevant App Group. Health data and backups managed by Apple are also governed by your settings and Apple services.
Purchases and subscriptions
Apple and RevenueCat process information needed to purchase, validate and restore subscriptions and measure their operation: an anonymous app user identifier, transaction information, purchase history and access entitlements. RevenueCat may process this information outside your devices for app functionality and subscription analytics. Carrot does not send Health samples to RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card details. See the privacy policies of RevenueCat and Apple.
Reports, reminders and support
PDFs are generated on your device. If you choose to share one, its contents go to the destination or app you select. Reminders are local notifications that require your permission. When you email support, we receive your address, message and any attachments you choose to send; these are used to respond to your request. Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
This website
This static website has no forms, analytics cookies, advertising identifiers, trackers or external fonts. Switching between English and Spanish uses separate routes without saving a preference. Hosting provider Cloudflare processes requests and technical data such as IP addresses and headers to serve and protect the site. See its privacy policy.
Your controls
You can revoke Health access and notifications in system settings, manage subscriptions with Apple and choose when to export reports. Deleting Carrot does not cancel your subscription or delete original records in Health. Copies may remain on your Watch, in widgets or Apple backups. For requests about access, correction or deletion of information you have sent to support, or about purchase data processing, contact us; we do not promise to delete information controlled by another provider.
Wellness and changes
Carrot is a general wellness tool. Its estimates do not diagnose, treat or prevent disease and do not replace professional care. They do not determine whether it is safe to exercise. Ask a healthcare professional about health concerns and before making medical decisions.
We will update this page if features or data handling change. The revision date is shown at the top.
